Young people Collective Actions Now
Young people Collective Actions Now: Strengthening Partnership to Advance SRHR for Young People in East Africa project (YOUCAN PROJECT).
With funding from the Women Global Network for Reproductive Rights, Embibo Gender Initiative implemented a 3-month project to increase community-level advocacy and service provision with a focus on the reduction of stigma in access around Access to Contraceptives, Safe post-abortion care, comprehensive sexuality education, and HIV /AIDs treatment access.
The project reached over 1000 women, girls and young people through capacity building sessions and 10 medical practitioners for health system strengthening.
The project focused on a variety of activities such as youth training, peer-to-peer activities, and community working groups that engaged leaders and policymakers and an anti-stigma platform that for EGI focused on bringing together feminist allies to share knowledge and joint action for policies around SRHR access for young people.
