The organization carries out advocacy meetings, capacity building sessions and joint activities to consolidate policy efforts around SRHR, economic justice, violence prevention and improve quality inclusive education for Adolescent girls, women and key populations. The organization also belongs to a number of feminists, gender and development consortia that share interests in advancing the rights of women, girls and rural communities regionally and nationally.
Public servants and local policymakers often lack profound knowledge on SRHR and in particular the SRHR needs of Adolescent and Young Women. A first precondition is thus increasing the evidence-informed knowledge and skills of state actors to design and implement effective policies, laws, and services. Young people can play a key role in informing state actors on their needs round table dialogues.
The organization works with men and boys through male engagement information sessions and research. We also engage male traditional and religious leaders to create gender transformative change.EGI engages men as clients, fathers, supportive partners, and change agents.
EGI works with health workers to reduce stigma and increase adolescent girls and young women's quality access to services around sexual reproductive health and communicable diseases. EGI ensures the creation of youth-friendly corners in local HC II, III, and IVs.
